Vodacom Tanzania Plc has partnered with the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission to support the digital transformation of cooperative societies by donating laptops to strengthen the commission’s operations.
The initiative is intended to improve efficiency, increase access to information, enhance oversight and support better service delivery for cooperatives that work with farmers and local communities across the country.
According to Vodacom Tanzania, digital transformation is most effective when technology helps institutions deliver meaningful economic and social benefits. By equipping TCDC with additional digital tools, the company believes the commission will be better positioned to support cooperatives and improve their day-to-day operations.
Cooperative societies play an important role in Tanzania’s agricultural sector, helping farmers access markets, resources and other essential services. Strengthening their digital capabilities can contribute to better decision-making, improved management and more effective service delivery.
Vodacom said the donated laptops will enable TCDC to carry out its responsibilities more efficiently while supporting the development of stronger and more resilient cooperatives nationwide.
The telecommunications company described the partnership as part of its wider commitment to promoting digital inclusion and ensuring that organisations driving economic growth have access to the technology they need to succeed.
The collaboration also reflects broader efforts to use digital solutions to modernise Tanzania’s cooperative sector and support agricultural communities as they adapt to an increasingly technology-driven economy.
