Egyptian Students Win Five Awards at Huawei ICT Competition 2026
Egyptian students have earned international recognition at the Huawei ICT Competition 2026 Global Finals, winning five awards across multiple technology categories and highlighting the country’s growing strength in digital innovation.
According to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Egypt also became one of only eight countries worldwide to receive the competition’s prestigious Grand Prize, further strengthening its reputation as a rising technology and innovation hub.
Egyptian Universities Shine on Global Stage
The award-winning students represented several leading Egyptian institutions, including:
- Ain Shams University
- Misr University for Science and Technology
- King Salman International University
- Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport
The students secured awards across the competition’s Cloud Computing, Computing, Innovation, and Network tracks.
AI-Powered Hieroglyphics Project Wins Recognition
One of the standout achievements at the Huawei ICT Competition 2026 was the “Maneto” project, an innovative solution that uses artificial intelligence to translate ancient hieroglyphic texts.
The project gained international recognition for combining advanced AI technologies with cultural preservation, demonstrating how emerging technologies can help protect and promote Egypt’s historical heritage.
Egyptian Educator Receives Global Award
Beyond the student achievements, Mohamed Maher from October 6 University received the “Most Valuable Instructor” award.
The recognition honours educators who make outstanding contributions to student development and technology education within the competition.
